Maruti Suzuki India Limited has reported its highest-ever annual production, reaching 23.47 lakh units in FY2025-26, marking a significant milestone for the country’s largest passenger vehicle maker. The figure represents a strong 11.66% year-on-year growth and sets a new benchmark not just in India but across global operations of Suzuki Motor Corporation.
The company’s performance stands out as few automakers globally achieve such scale within a single country. Maruti Suzuki also led production across all Suzuki facilities worldwide, underlining India’s growing role in the global automotive supply chain.
Five key models Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga, and Baleno each crossed the 2 lakh unit mark, reflecting strong and balanced demand across segments, especially in the under ₹10 lakh category. This diversified demand base reduces dependency on any single model and strengthens volume stability.
Production has steadily increased over the past four years, rising from 19.22 lakh units in FY23 to 23.47 lakh units in FY26. The company’s current manufacturing network spans facilities in Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda, and Hansalpur, with a combined capacity of 24 lakh units annually.
Looking ahead, Maruti Suzuki is expanding aggressively. A new plant in Sanand, Gujarat, is expected to add 10 lakh units of capacity, aligning with its long-term goal of reaching 40 lakh units annually. The strategy is backed by strong policy support, including reforms like GST 2.0, which have boosted demand and investor confidence.
This record production reinforces Maruti Suzuki’s dominance in the Indian automobile market while strengthening its position as a key export hub.
