Hindustan Zinc Q1 Results 2027: Net Profit Soars 145% to ₹5,469 Crore as Revenue Jumps 77%

Vedanta Group-owned Hindustan Zinc reported a strong financial performance for the June quarter of FY2026-27, with consolidated net profit surging 145% year-on-year to ₹5,469 crore from ₹2,234 crore a year earlier. The company’s revenue from core operations rose 77% to ₹13,747 crore, compared with ₹7,771 crore in the year-ago quarter.

The strong performance was also reflected in the company’s profitability. Operating margins expanded to 52% from 38% a year earlier, while the profit margin increased to 40% from 29%. The latest Q1 results 2027 highlight a sharp improvement in both revenue growth and operating efficiency.

Segment-wise, revenue from the zinc, lead and other minerals business increased 49.5% year-on-year to ₹9,146 crore. The silver business recorded a much sharper 169% jump in revenue to ₹3,839 crore from ₹1,426 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Wind energy revenue was marginally lower at ₹48 crore.

The company also announced key management changes. Amarendu Prakash has been appointed as CEO and whole-time director, effective August 1, 2026, subject to shareholder approval. Amit Gupta has been appointed CFO, while Aashhima V Khanna will serve as Company Secretary and Compliance Officer.

Hindustan Zinc shares closed 0.47% higher at ₹533.65 on Friday. Despite strong long-term returns, the stock remains down 13% year-to-date. The strong Hindustan Zinc Q1 results could draw renewed investor attention to the company’s earnings growth and margin expansion.
