Mahindra & Mahindra reported strong monthly and annual sales performance, driven by robust demand for its utility vehicles. The company’s SUV sales growth stood out in March 2026, rising 25% year-on-year to 60,272 units in the domestic market, compared to 48,048 units a year earlier.
Including exports, total SUV volumes reached 62,109 units during the month. Overall auto sales climbed 21% year-on-year to 99,969 vehicles, supported by contributions from commercial vehicles and overseas shipments.
For the full financial year, the company achieved its highest-ever FY26 volumes, selling 6,60,276 SUVs, marking a 20% increase over FY25. This milestone highlights Mahindra’s continued dominance in the utility vehicle segment amid rising consumer preference for larger and feature-rich models.
The LCV sales segment also showed steady growth. Domestic sales of light commercial vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) rose 13% in March to 24,928 units, while annual volumes reached 2,89,597 units. Exports declined slightly in March but posted an 18% increase for the full year.
Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of the automotive division, said the company closed FY26 on a strong note, achieving record volumes across both SUVs and light commercial vehicles.
Mahindra’s focused strategy on SUVs, with no presence in the traditional passenger car segment, continues to deliver results. The sustained momentum in Mahindra SUV sales reflects shifting consumer demand trends in India’s auto market, while stable commercial vehicle performance provides additional support to overall growth.
