Lupin Ltd.<\/a> has completed its acquisition of VISUfarma B.V<\/strong>, a European pharmaceutical company specializing in ophthalmology, the Indian drugmaker announced in an exchange filing on Thursday. The deal marks a key step in Lupin\u2019s strategy to expand its specialty care offerings and deepen its footprint in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this acquisition, Lupin\u2019s ophthalmology portfolio now includes more than 60 branded products covering dry eye, glaucoma, eyelid hygiene, blepharitis, retinal health, and specialty nutraceuticals<\/strong>. VISUfarma\u2019s strong presence in Italy, the UK, Spain, Germany, and France brings local expertise, established customer relationships, and market insight to Lupin\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vinita Gupta, Lupin\u2019s Chief Executive Officer, said the acquisition \u201cadds a differentiated portfolio of more than 60 innovative eye health products supported by an established commercial infrastructure\u201d and will accelerate the company\u2019s specialty care expansion across Europe. Paolo Ciocetti, VISUfarma\u2019s CEO, described Lupin as an ideal partner with global expertise, noting that together they aim to advance eye care across Europe and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry experts say the deal comes at a time of rising global demand for eye care solutions, driven by an ageing population and increasing incidence of diabetes-related eye conditions. The integration of VISUfarma<\/a> is expected to enhance Lupin\u2019s ability to meet this demand while expanding its European market share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
