Karur Vysya Bank<\/a> shares surged more than 11% on Tuesday, July 21, after the lender reported a strong first-quarter performance for fiscal 2026-27, led by higher interest income, robust net interest income (NII) growth and lower provisions for bad loans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stock climbed 11.2% to an intraday high of \u20b9334.95 on the NSE, compared with its previous close of \u20b9301. The shares were trading 10.75% higher at \u20b9333.35 during morning trade. Investors reacted positively to the bank\u2019s Q1 results 2027, announced after market hours on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karur Vysya Bank reported a 45% year-on-year increase in net profit to \u20b9755.70 crore for the April-June quarter, up from \u20b9521.45 crore a year earlier. Interest income rose 19% to \u20b93,049.42 crore, while NII jumped 31% to \u20b91,423 crore from \u20b91,080 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bank\u2019s net interest margin improved to 4.34% from 3.86% a year ago. Provisions for bad loans declined 23.5% to \u20b990.30 crore. However, gross non-performing assets (NPAs) increased marginally to 0.74% from 0.66%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bank also reported a sharp improvement in return on assets, which rose to 3.11% from 1.73%. Analysts said operating momentum, asset quality and loan growth remained supportive, although further margin expansion may take time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karur Vysya Bank shares have gained over 702% in five years and 24% year-to-date. The stock\u2019s market capitalisation stood at around \u20b932,030 crore as of July 21.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
