JSW Steel<\/a> reported a sharp rise in profitability for the June quarter, with consolidated net profit more than doubling to \u20b94,696 crore in Q1 results 2027, supported by higher steel prices and improved operating performance. The company had reported a net profit of \u20b92,209 crore in the same quarter a year earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result significantly exceeded analysts\u2019 average estimate of around \u20b93,111 crore, according to data compiled by LSEG and reported by Reuters. Revenue from operations increased 9.8% year-on-year to \u20b947,364 crore from \u20b943,147 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steel sales rose 4% to 6.25 million tonnes, while production increased 3% to 6.59 million tonnes. Adjusted for foreign exchange losses, EBITDA climbed 32% year-on-year to \u20b99,373 crore. Adjusted EBITDA per tonne also rose 27% to \u20b914,990, reflecting stronger steel prices and a favourable cost environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steel prices gained during the quarter amid higher global energy costs linked to the Iran-US conflict, which also pushed up coking coal prices. However, demand was temporarily affected by weaker steel purchases from infrastructure and real estate companies during extreme summer conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JSW Steel spent \u20b94,869 crore on capital expenditure during the quarter and has guided for up to \u20b924,000 crore of capex in FY27. Net debt declined to \u20b946,157 crore, down \u20b97,713 crore from March 31, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
