India\u2019s broader stock market has staged a strong recovery in FY27 after the sharp correction seen in March, with smallcap shares significantly outperforming benchmark indices. While the benchmark BSE Sensex has gained around 7.5% since April 1, the BSE 250 SmallCap Index has surged more than 23%, reflecting renewed investor appetite for high-growth stocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the top performers, HFCL<\/a> emerged as the biggest gainer, with its shares rallying 116% in FY27 so far. The stock rebounded sharply from a 52-week low of Rs 59.82 in January to touch Rs 107.10 recently. Brokerage firm Geojit Investments maintained a \u201cBuy\u201d rating on the company, citing rising fibre demand driven by AI data centres, 5G expansion, improving margins, and stronger balance sheet conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Cemindia Projects<\/a> shares climbed over 90% during the same period, supported by strong momentum in the construction and civil engineering sector. The stock has delivered multibagger returns of more than 1,175% over the last five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Real estate-focused Embassy Developments<\/a> gained more than 76% after relief from the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, which set aside an earlier insolvency-related order against the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the healthcare space, Cohance Lifesciences<\/a> advanced 61% following the appointment of former Cipla CEO Umang Vohra as Executive Chairman and Group CEO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Other strong performers included Welspun Corp<\/a> and Schneider Electric Infrastructure<\/a>, both rising around 60% since April. Schneider Electric Infrastructure also touched a fresh 52-week high earlier this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Elecon Engineering Company<\/a>, Gallantt Ispat<\/a>, and defence PSU Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers<\/a> posted gains between 57% and 59%, backed by improved earnings and operational growth.
