Private sector lender YES Bank<\/a> reported a strong set of Q4 results 2026, with standalone net profit rising 45% year-on-year to \u20b91,068 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026. The performance was driven by steady loan growth, improved margins, and stable asset quality, marking a key milestone as the bank achieved a return on assets (ROA) of 1% for the first time since 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The results also mark the first quarterly performance under the leadership of CEO Vinay M Tonse. Ahead of the earnings announcement, YES Bank<\/a> shares closed 2.3% higher at \u20b920.4, reflecting positive investor sentiment around the YES Bank Q4 performance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Net interest margin (NIM), a key profitability metric, improved to 2.7% in Q4FY26 from 2.5% a year ago. The bank has set a medium-term target to expand margins to 3.25\u20133.5% over the next two to three years, indicating a focus on sustainable profitability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Total income remained largely stable at \u20b99,381 crore, compared to \u20b99,356 crore in the same quarter last year. Net interest income (NII) also saw a marginal rise to \u20b97,650 crore. Meanwhile, loan growth accelerated to 10.7% year-on-year, supported by stronger corporate lending, while deposits increased 12.1%, aided by a robust CASA franchise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asset quality trends continued to improve. Gross non-performing assets (GNPA) declined to 1.3% from 1.5% in the previous quarter, while provisions for bad loans dropped sharply by 41% to \u20b9187 crore. The bank also made a one-time provision of \u20b9341 crore as part of a conservative provisioning strategy, clarifying that it does not indicate any deterioration in credit quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Management highlighted that FY26 was a significant year, with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation emerging as the largest shareholder, reinforcing global investor confidence in the bank\u2019s turnaround story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The improved asset quality YES Bank<\/strong>, stronger banking sector growth<\/strong>, and steady expansion in lending and deposits signal a more stable foundation.
